Trusted Roof Restoration in New Orleans

Often far cheaper than replacement. A free inspection decides whether the deck is sound enough to restore, and the written scope covers every repair and treatment.

Roof restoration

Roof restoration brings a tired but structurally sound roof back into good order: repairs, fresh flashing and sealant, cleaning, and a protective coat where the material suits it.

Big Easy Roofing Company restores roofs across New Orleans that have lost their surface but not their deck. Done at the right point, restoration buys years for a fraction of what a new roof costs.

Restoration only works on a dry, sound deck. If the inspection finds soft wood or failed underlayment across the roof, the honest answer is a roof replacement, and the report explains why.

Deck Checked First

Restoration starts from the attic. A soft deck rules it out.

Every Layer Addressed

Repairs, flashing, sealant and surface together, not a quick coat of paint.

Cheaper Than Replacing

When the deck is sound, restoration costs a fraction of a new roof.

Restore or replace?

Six Signs a Roof
Can Be Restored

Restoration suits a roof that looks worse than it is. These are the signs yours might qualify.

Weathered shingles around a pipe boot, up close

Worn Surface, Dry Attic

Faded, weathered shingles over a dry deck are the classic restoration roof.

Clay roof tiles cracked and slipped out of their rows

A Few Broken Pieces

Scattered cracked tiles or shingles can be replaced one by one without touching the rest.

Moss and algae spread across a roof around a dormer

Growth on the Surface

Moss and algae look alarming but usually sit on top. Cleaned off and treated, the roof underneath is often fine.

Rusted corrugated metal roof under a cloudy sky

Surface Rust on a Metal Roof

Metal that has rusted on top but not through can be cleaned, repaired and coated.

Brick chimney rising through a dark shingle roof

Tired Flashing and Sealant

Old flashing and dried sealant are renewed as part of a restoration, which removes the usual leak points.

A Roof Worth Keeping

Slate, tile and good metal outlast their fixings. Restoring them keeps a roof that would cost a great deal to replace.

Not sure yours qualifies? The free inspection checks the deck first and tells you.

How We Restore
a Tired Roof

Eight steps. The deck check comes first, because it decides whether restoration is on the table at all.

A soft deck rules it out.

The restoration check is free, and if the answer is replacement, you hear that too.

What we restore

Four Roofs That
Restore Well

Restoration looks different on each material. This is what it involves on the four we see most.

Roof 01

Asphalt Shingle

Damaged shingles replaced, lifted tabs resealed, boots and flashing renewed. Coatings are rarely right on shingle, so they are left out.

Roof 02

Metal

Rust treated, fasteners replaced, seams sealed and a coating applied. Often the best-value restoration of all.

Roof 03

Clay Tile and Slate

Broken pieces replaced, slipped ones refixed, and the underlayment checked at the eaves and valleys.

Roof 04

Flat and Low-Slope

Blisters and split seams repaired, then a coating to renew the surface where the membrane underneath is still dry.

Restoration Is Not a Paint Job

A coat of paint on a failing roof hides it for a year. Restoration fixes what is wrong first, then protects it.

Restoration cost

What Sets the Cost
of a Roof Restoration

Restoration is priced from the inspection, not a rate card. These five things decide it.

Roof Size

More squares, more cleaning, more surface to treat.

How Much Is Broken

A handful of pieces or dozens changes the repair line a lot.

Flashing Renewed

Each chimney, wall and valley that needs new metal adds to the scope.

The Material

Metal and flat roofs take a coating. Tile and slate take careful piece work.

Surface Condition

Heavy growth and rust take more cleaning and treatment.

Every line is on the written scope, so you can set it beside a replacement quote and decide. Rather send details first? Try our contact page.

Restoration questions

Roof Restoration Questions

Thinking about selling in a few years? Restoration is often the smart middle ground. Ask us to price both.

Talk to a roofer504-229-3955

A repair fixes one problem. A restoration works through the whole roof: repairs, flashing, sealant, cleaning and, where it suits, a coating.

It depends on the material and how worn it was. The point is to get useful years from a roof that is sound underneath, and the scope says what to expect for yours.

Usually much cheaper, when the deck is sound. If it is not, restoration would be money wasted, and we will say so.

Partly. Damaged shingles, boots and flashing can be renewed, but a worn-out shingle roof cannot be made new again. Coatings are rarely a good idea on shingle.

It can. High pressure strips shingle granules and cracks tile, which is why cleaning is matched to the material.

A roof in better condition helps at renewal, and the before and after photos document the work. Ask your insurer how they treat it.
